The Arts in London and Me: An Introduction

Hello everyone! My name is Sarah Schroll and I will be exploring London for the next four weeks while studying about The Arts in London and Experiment with Photography. I am required to host a blog for both courses, but I will do my best to keep everything organized between the two courses and any personal posts. I have never had a blog before so this may be entertaining.

Now, an introduction to the world of Sarah! I am a Louisville native and attend Bellarmine University, where I study accounting. I have two siblings; my older brother despises photos so you won't see him and my little sister will have a few appearances in the beginning, through photos of me (such as one to the right, which was taken by her in Orange Beach, AL) and photos of us together.

In May 2018, I was fortunate to be able to visit London with my grandmother for approximately 2 weeks. Since then, I have wanted to return to London and taking classes at the same time sounded like a grand idea. As mentioned previously, I am taking the Arts and the Photography courses. Carol sold me on her courses when I talked to her previously, and having her as a teacher helped assure my nerves. This class sounds amazing and I am looking forward to exploring the artsy side of London with everyone.

While in London, I would like to move out of my comfort zone and try new foods, places, and meet new people. I have visited many of the most famous museums, but I wouldn't mind going back. I especially want to explore some of the parks, botanical gardens, and hidden sites of greenery in the concrete jungle. Overall, I want to keep myself open to the possibilities that are in London.

As for the arts themselves, I consider myself as a fairly creative person, but I have not engaged in art-or craft-making for a while. I rarely go to concerts or theatre performances, but those that I have attended are enjoyable. There is nothing in particular that I hope to do or see while in London, but I will be on the lookout for something that catches my eye!

I may edit this post later with a few more pictures, but for now, I'm off on last-minute errands!
